Terribly Addicted
I am a senior pastor of an A/G church and I terribly addicted to porn and masturbation. I have tried to find accountability partners but to no avail.
I view porn 3-4 times a week and at time even done it at the church. Maybe I should not even be a pastor.
I want to be rid of it. I am 33 and have been addicted since my early teens. My dream is to live in recovery and establish a ministry at my church to help others.
Any resources would be helpful.

Can't let a brother carry this burden by himself. Breaking the silence begins the discover of the deliverance the Lord has for you. I'm a fellow pastor ready to walk with you if you want. Let me know.

Hello. Thank you for sharing. I pray that God can free you from this addiction and that you would feel and experience what an amazing freedom it is to be out of porn and sexual addiction.
I have one encouragement for you...start a group now whether you are experiencing freedom from it now or not. It would be a great way to start accountability and to encourage others and minister to them the truths that you know while also being helped by God ministering through other's confessions and victorious testimonies.

I agree with Anthony. Start a group now. You'd be surprised to see how much healing you can receive while being a support system for others. Great resource for groups (or just yourself) is "Hunger For Healing" by Keith Miller. Also, if you just CAN'T get out of this mess and are really thinking of throwing in the towel, don't hesitate to use the A/G helpline... you know, the one on the back of your minister's card! Yeah... I'm A/G too and I'm with you both in prayer and in the heartaches. But things are getting better. I'm getting there. I'll make it. Remember, we serve a God who's big enough.
