Accidents Can Happen

Growing up I was a huge fan of Mötley Crüe and yes I even sported the hair.  Thank goodness Darcy didn’t see me then or she would have run.  Still to this day I enjoy their music and sound.

Recently I have been listening to a newer band called Sixx AM.  For those who may not know the Sixx in Sixx AM is the name of Nikki Sixx; the bassist for Mötley Crüe.  He has faced many demons in his life with his addiction to drugs and alcohol.  He has been clean for awhile now and is still rocking hard with both the Crüe and Sixx AM. His songs with Sixx AM are based on his experiences with his past addiction with heroin.  With such titles as Tomorrow, Courtesy Call, and life is beautiful.

Today I received an X3 watch report from a friend of mine who had a problem with pornography.  For sometime now he had been doing well until this past week when he slipped and fell pretty hard.  Just before this report hit my email I had listened to the song “Accidents can happen” from Sixx AM.  Below are the lyrics to this song.  I think anyone who has been through or going through the healing process of sexual addiction can relate to this song.  During the healing period you will have slip ups and you will feel like it is the end of the world.  Remember you are not alone in this and like the song says;

“Don’t give up, it takes a while”       “and it’s ok”       “so don’t give up”

“Accidents Can Happen”

Don't give up, it takes a while

I have seen this look before

And it's alright

You're not alone

If you don't love this anymore

I hear that you've slipped again

I'm here 'cause I know you'll need a friend

And you know that accidents can happen

And it's okay,

We all fall off the wagon sometimes

It's not your whole life

It's only one day

You haven't thrown everything away.

Take some time and learn to breathe

And remember what it means

To feel alive

And to believe

Something more than what you see

I know there's a price for this

But some things in life you must resist

And you know that accidents can happen

And it's okay,

We all fall off the wagon sometimes

It's not your whole life

It's only one day

You haven't thrown everything away.

I hear that you've slipped again

I'm here 'cause I know you'll need a friend

And you know that accidents can happen

And it's okay,

We all fall off the wagon sometimes

It's not your whole life

It's only one day

You haven't thrown everything away.

You know that accidents can happen

And it's okay,

We all fall off the wagon sometimes

It's not your whole life

It's only one day

You haven't thrown everything away.

So don't give up

It takes a while.

I really needed those words right now. My husband is 6 weeks going strong..then this weekend....off the wagon......I am really struggling between anger/hurt/forgiveness/Love/compassion.....after the pain goes away...those words are how I feel....I just emailed him those words to let him know I am thinking of him....without starting an argument

I am so glad that this came to you at the right time. If you haven't already take a look at MT's blog about four back called "Failures are a part of the process" We understand it can be hard and I can see that you are doing everything you can to support your husband and he really needs this. How ever do not forget about yourself. You also need to heal from this. Again if you haven't already please visit the resource sections that are offered here and when you get the chance head on over to www.partnersforpurity.com This group will help you as you move along in this part of your lives together. Darcy and I will be praying for you and your husband.
