Every One Sins. We are born into this world as sinners. Each day we all sin big or small its all sin and its all the same God sees no levels of sin its all sin. But I try to change and stop sining or at least reduce the sin in my life. And try to live like Christ lived Transformed to his likness day by day. Its a process and no one will ever make it to be perfect like Jesus who we aim to follow and who we aim to be more like. Well if you haven't you should check it out. You are that guy. People don't listen to you about what you think when you just rant and rave about things you obviously don't know about. Did you take the time to go through the xxxchurch website and read about all the lives that they are saving from going to hell? Can you trust that God can use different people to dave different people. Now either you have a huge addiction to porn that nobody but yourself knows about and seeing this vehicle perturbs you because that means people are actually going to talk about porn being a problem in your circle of people...or you don't have an addiction to porn(good for you, but you probably have some sort of other vise...) and are so naive to think that it is not a huge problem in this society, that hundreds of people in your church or friend circles think about it and use it to destroy their marriages and relationships. It blows me away that you think its an abomination to Jesus to have this simple wording posted on a vehicle and not think anything of friends and family being addicted to porn and having people there to turn to for help. Where exactly are your motives? Helping or hurting people?

With just a little bit of internet research I have found that you are a traveling violinist...Hmmm now if I was as fanatical as you are about preaching the gospel I would probably lay into you that you are not settling down into a church family and growing and being held accountable. You would probably say that these festivals you attend are your church and that you don't need a regular church to attend. That you gain strength and accountability from the people you meet and sell your CD to. Accountability from different people, never the same people, who don't know you at all?...Now thats not what the bible commands us to do is it?

In your post you said that you asked the xxxchurch guys if they have sinned today. They answered honestly and said most certainly we have multiple times today. Do you think they were boasting about sinning or stating an obvious fact that as people on this earth we sin everyday without fail. Yes we try and live as sinless as possible, however only Jesus was sinless. Do you think you haven't sinned today...or you wont sin at all today or tomorrow? Well as I stated before only Jesus was sinless being in this earth.

I really don't mean to bash you and what you do for a living, I'm sure you really enjoy the life you lead. However, the people that xxchurch help out, the mindset they are in at this point, they would just laugh at you if you tried to talk to them about Jesus. Again I am not laughing or poking fun at you, but please just realize that it is going to take someone with shock and awe type of personality to reach people who need shock and awe to save them. Just like it would take someone like you to save someone that xxxchurch wouldn't have a chance at saving.

I personally have been a Christian since grade school but have been following these guys since they started a few years ago. They have helped me get through an extremely bad addiction to pornography with the materials and resources they offer. Thus being the reason for this email...as a fellow believer I am not going to let you openly bash these guys when they have helped me with the exact issues they preach about. I encourage you to prayerfully consider looking through their website and see how many people they have helped. See what kind of people they have helped. See the kind of fanatics that leave hate mail because they aren't willing to realize that God works in mysterious ways.

I wish you the best in your travels and I honestly hope that you do have a church body that you are plugged into that can hold you accountable on a regular basis.

Just one final thought before I waste any more of my time debating with a person like you. Jesus didn't condemn his fellow brothers in Christ with hatred...he loved them unconditionally. What gives you the right to judge people so harshly? Do real Christians ever condemn anyone to hell? Or do they try their hardest to love a person and understand what a person is all about with out judgment.
There is no way that I will ever soften you heart against you fellow brothers in Christ, but man I would sure hate to see how you treat a non-believer. People don't come to Christ through hatred and fear, they come because God loves them with every part of his being.

"If we claim to be without sin, we decieve ourselves and the truth is not in us." (1 John 1:7)

The term translated as "be without" in the Greek is pronounced "ook echo-men". It means "to not hold", ie. "If we say that we do not hold/do not have sin..." (see Strongs Greek Dictionary no's 3756 and 2192). It is a combined verb of PRESENT tense. This, coupled with the fact that John has written this letter to those "who believe in the name of the Son of God" (see 5:13), ie. Christians, shows that even the early apostles saw no clonflict in recognising the ongoing sinful nature of man that is DAILY fended off by us trying in our flesh nature to allow God via the Holy Spirit and the work of Jesus n the cross to do His pefect will in us.

Mr. Markley, I am a sinner. Every day, I fail to live in the perfection that God wants for me. It's not that I don't want to, or don't try to: sometimes I succeed. But just as many times I fail. (See Romans 7 for Paul's take on how he consistently does what he does not ant to do; and does not do what he knows he should)

But thanks to the blood Jesus shed for me on the cross, I have been, am now, and always will be forgiven.

And THAT is what I can boast in.

I will have the great pleasure for working with the xxxChurch team in Australia later this year (I am a stand-up comedian who will be doing a set at a Porn and Pancakes in Brisbane later this year. Although, Mr. Markley, I do wonder if you will have a problem with my work also, even though it has led to many people in bars, pubs, and comedy venues to be touched by a little of Jesus love and word in my comedy sets...) and I look forward to the lives that I know will be changed by the message they have and the space they provide for Christians to talk seriously about the struggles we ALL have, and how the koinonia Jesus gave us in the body provides support for us to do just that.

Gentlemen I respect both the positions and honestly I can see both sides. This is a debate and in a good debate the extremes are used to make points. I am sure Michael is a good Christian with a loving heart and understand that as Christians we all still sin. I feel that he is upset that it "appears" that xxxchurch.com is saying that "oh go ahead and sin man isn't perfect but remember you are forgiven".

I doubt that is what is meant but because xxxchurch is preaching to a group of folks who sin is an everyday part of their life not only in private but in public, the need is to assure them that yes you will sin you will fall but it is okay get back up and keep trying for you are forgiven by the love of Jesus Christ dying on the cross and raising from the dead it will be okay.

Michael is from a different generation than most of those working with xxxchurch and in his eyes this site is offensive and members of xxxchurch need to be understanding of his feelings. Instead it appears that they want his to check out the site or to be understanding of what they are doing without understanding him.

People from that generation do not do research on the internet on something they find offensive and truthfully maybe we should take a clue from this behavior as it helps prevent going to sites our eyes should not see.

personally I love the site and the humor that is #1 Christian Porn site slogan. I would admit that had I came across the car wrapped as it is while driving with my son before knowing about the site I might have found myself offended and unable to explain to my son just what the car was about or means.

There is a thin line with the car, it is great if someone ask you about it and you are able to explain about the site but what about those who simply see the car and don't understand. What happens if someone sees the car and does go to research on the internet but gets the address wrong and instead types it in backwards gee guess what you get a porn site the very thing you are preaching against and now that person simply thinks you were a pornmobile

Maybe just Maybe Michael has some valid points and you need to listen. sure maybe he is too hardcore in his approach and it is old school to your generation but glean from his complaint what you can and correct.

I'm not sure I agree with you on the "shame" angle for airing this debate. This is exactly what we need in Christian circles: healthy discussions that challenge ALL of us and force us all to grow. I think for too long Christians have seen this sort of discussion (as is happening here) in a bad way rather than to look at what it achieves for all of us (that are willing to listen to each other of course...)

Your comment about the pornmobile was interesting too. Perhaps that's whay we need it - to make us wake up to the fact that we live in a world that is forcing images of a sexual nature on our children earlier than we might want or experienced ourselves; and to realise that to counter that we need to discuss this stuff with them earlier than we might have, but to do so will probably be of more benefit in the long run...
