WHY I GET OUT OF BED
I had the privilege to hang with Daniel as we shot his Pornmobile Confession that will be released later this year in Hollywood this weekend. Needless to say he is an inspiration to me.
A lot of things people ask "why we do what we do?" I just say because of the stories, because of the people...because of dudes like Daniel, that is why I get out of bed in the morning...
The crazy angle of his story is that Daniel found God for the first time when he was 30 years old...he hands down would say that he would never stopped looking at porn if God did not come into his life...
Sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you but things have been a little hectic lately. So let me start with the basics, I am 33, live in Chino,Ca., married to my wife of almost 5 years, Jennifer. We have one son Cash, who is 2 and a half and one on the way, Colt who is due on Sept. 11 just a couple of weeks away. Currently I am a full time student at Hope International University as a Christian Ministry major with the intention to go to Fuller Seminary for the MDiv. with a concentration in Recovery Ministry program. I am on staff at our church, Inland Hills Church as an intern for our recovery ministry, Real + Solutions, and am a Meter Reader for the City of Chino Hills. As you can see I have a lot on my plate but it keeps me out of trouble. I will give you a brief overview of my story and if you want more info please feel free to ask. My first intro to porn was a magazine at age 9 and it quickly went from general exploration to compulsion. When I was 11 I discovered many different forms of porn like, hardcore magazines, pay per-view porn and my drug of choice phone sex lines and I also discovered masturbation. Compulsive masturbation, phone sex, movies and magazines were what I acted out with through out my youth and into my young adult years. I was in the U.S. Coast Guard for 8 years and this is where my life went completely out of control. I became an alcoholic, drug addict, sex addicted lost soul. I experimented with all types of drugs had many sexual partners, prostitution and my phone sex addiction had coasted me thousands of dollars by this time. It was about the time I was in the process of getting kicked of the Coast Guard for indebtedness (go figure right) that I discovered internet porn. Internet porn and phone sex is what brought me to my knees. My wife discovered my addiction about a year and a half into our marriage and was completely destroyed by her discovery. That is a basic overview of my story I have left a lot of the in-depth details out seeing that it would be an obnoxiously long e-mail, not that this one already isn't. My road to recovery is a story in itself as you can read about the end results in my intro.
