Same Sex Attraction Blogs Coming Soon

I went to high school with Adam Balkcom.  He didn't know me, but I knew him.  I knew who Adam was because of his lifestyle.  I knew about him because of what others told me, not because I got to know him.  It's a shame that we do that so often.  We take what others say about someone as fact without finding out for ourselves.  I didn't know Adam's heart.  I didn't know his struggle.
 
Fast forward 8 years and we are preparing to go to Atlanta Pride Festival to share God's love with the parade goers.  Looking through our list of volunteers, I saw Adam's name and got really excited.  I got excited because of what he wrote on his volunteer signup: "The Lord has renewed my life and brought me so much healing the past few years. When I was starting to come out of the lifestyle the people who made the biggest impact on me where the ones that just showed me love and support, not condemnation. I gave myself plenty of that and had been condemned by the church I grew up in. I have been praying for ways to help bring God's love to the gay community and I feel this is a perfect opportunity. I just want to be able to go and give healthy love to so many men who are hurting."

As Adam will tell you, he struggled with the issue of same sex attraction for many years before finding freedom from it.  SSA is something we haven't covered very often at XXXchurch.  Although we have received numerous questions about it, the issue has not been at the forefront of our ministry.
