Ever felt like a failure? I know I have. Especially after falling to porn addiction. Porn has never made me feel successful. It’s quite the opposite. Porn has always made me feel like a failure. I knew it was wrong. But I did it anyway. And the results that ensued were guilt, shame, and knowing I had failed yet again.

Never have I looked at porn and had a joyous feeling of accomplishment. Never. I don’t think anyone else has either. But I don’t want to feel like a failure. And chances are if you are reading this blog, you don’t want to feel like a failure either.

So how do we go from feeling like a failure to being successful over this temptation? “There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.” 1 Corinthians 10:13.

Give it to God. Don’t place yourself where you know you will be tempted. Don’t be alone with your computer or cell phone. Have an accountability partner. And most importantly, pray and spend time with God in His word. God will give you the strength if you ask for it. “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” Philippians 4:13.

Remember, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9.
