Does going to Barely Legal sites make us more prone to act out with youth and children?

Yes.  Of course it does.

All of us say we would never touch a child.  We say we will never look at child porn.  But if we’re hanging around Barely Legal sites, we’re dangerously close to looking at child porn and closer than we think to acting out sexually with a minor.

Here’s why:

We Are Sexually Triggered By Young Bodies
We are conditioning our minds to go young when we need a sexual fix.  Barely Legal sites are teaching us to sexualize and crave the young.  We are training our bodies to get aroused when we see the young.

We Get Bored and Cross New Boundaries
We get used to looking at Barely Legal porn and want something new.  Some go to other fetishes.  Others will make a dark decision to go younger… into child porn.  And some will decide to act out physically with a minor.

Our Bodies Follow Our Fantasies
We’re already acting out when we go to Barely Legal sites.  We click.  We browse.  We masturbate.  Maybe we chat or pay for personalized content.  Our fantasies fan the flames and prep our bodies to act out.  The more preoccupied we are with young porn, the greater the likelihood of crossing a physical line with a minor.

It’s Easy to Find a Hookup (Victim)
Chatrooms and social sites make it easy for us to find young boys and girls to connect with.  Today’s youth are extremely social.  Parties, raves, dance music are more popular than ever.  These are all arenas for potential hookups.

Fantasy + Acting Out Online + Boredom + Crossing Boundaries
=
Decisions I may regret for the rest of my life

WE’RE TWO STEPS (OR LESS AWAY)
Baseline
– I look at Barely Legal Porn.
Step 1 – I cross the child porn boundary.
Step 2 – I act out physically with a minor.

WHY IS YOUNG PORN SO APPEALING TO ME?
Maybe we’ve never thought about why we like looking at Barely Legal porn and younger boys or girls.  Identifying our deeper desires is key to finding Gods’ victory and healing.

The girls and boys are attractive – Smooth skin.  Newly developed.  No flaws, sags or effects of old age on the body.

The “youth” that has passed me by – We idealize our youth years.  We have not grown up or matured.  Young porn reminds us of the “good ole’ days”.

The “youth” I never had – Our youth sucked.  We want to rewrite my youth create it again with porn and with youth.

Our need to be validated  – Adults our age don’t make us feel valued.  Porn makes us feel like a man or like a woman.  Young boys and girls often look up to us.  Porn + Young = feeling of double validation.

The illusion of power – We feel strong, powerful and in control when around the young.

The “pop the cherry” fantasy – Barely Legal porn feeds this “take away my virginity” fantasy.  It is connected to wanting to feel powerful.

Naïve and trusting – We prey on this.  We are drawn to vulnerability and want to exploit it. Children are the ultimate manifestation of this.

The lure of the forbidden – We want what we can’t have.  We want to get as close to the line as possible, then we want to see if we can step over it.  Barely Legal markets this.  Our sin nature gets activated any time there’s a line.
