Have you ever been a part of a church small group?  Does it scare you to think of becoming involved in a small group?

I can think of many times over the 8 years I was involved in sexual addiction of the thought of going to church…it was terrifying!  I knew I wanted to find the peace and serenity which I was sure were within the walls of the church, but my fear (placed there by satan) kept me away.

What I have found is, I gain strength from helping others.  Do any of you find the same thing?  I think it is God’s reward for serving.

I also find when my mind wanders to thoughts I do not want to entertain, I can turn on Christian music and the thoughts vanish…it seems satan cannot stand against the Truth.

I have found strength in serving others through small groups in our church.  Sometimes that is in my sexual addiction small group, but many times it comes from a couples group, or the involvement with a church project like serving the homeless, or yard cleanup, just helping other human beings frees me from the bondage of sin…

Have any of you experienced the power of serving?  How do you feel after attending your small group?  Do you feel the armor of God?

Maybe some of you are still afraid to walk through those doors.  If you are and you want help finding a church, post your city on here and let our community find a great place to connect.  Isolation is one the greatest tool’s satan uses to keep you from all that God has planned for you. Put on the armor of God…

Ephesians 6:10-12 –  10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

Let me know your thoughts…

In His name,

Steve G
