Call me old fashioned, but I still like hymns. They’re so rich with doctrine and beautifully poetic. There’s one hymn that keeps coming to mind when I ponder the question, “how do I find help for my healing?” Here’s my favorite part of that hymn…
O soul, are you weary and troubled?
No light in the darkness you see?
There’s light for a look at the Savior.
A life more abundant and free.
Turn your eyes upon Jesus.
Look full in His wonderful face.
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim.
In the light of His glory and grace.
Did you see it? Turn your eyes upon JESUS. That’s right. I know there are so many helpful books out there on the topic of healing from sexual betrayal. There’s even blogs just like this one that are meant to help you on your journey towards healing and restoration. And many of them are very good and very helpful. But ultimately there is no healing aside from Jesus Christ. He is our Healer. He is our Sustainer. He is a Mighty Fortress when we are in distress. He in the One who can redeem your husband. He is the One who can restore your marriage. He is the One who can mend your broken heart. He is the love, grace, forgiveness, and faith that you need to overcome the pain of sexual betrayal.
Turn your eyes upon Jesus.
I could list a bunch of books for you to go read (and there’s plenty of those listed on my website at Isaiah 53 Ministry). But I’d rather point you to God’s Word! I read a lot of books that had helpful tips in handling situations, but I found my HEALING in the Lord. - Isaiah 53:5
- 2nd Corinthians 1:3-7
