E-X-ERCISE Spiritual Disciplines

Growing spiritually is vital to your overcoming the porn war.  With the exception of fasting, each of the disciplines should be practiced daily.

1.            Bible Reading

2.            Prayer

3.            Scripture Memory

4.            Fasting

5.            Journaling

6.            Worship

7.            Meditation

8.            Solitude (time alone with God to listen)

Scriptural Basis:

I Timothy 4:7b

“…discipline yourself for the purpose of godliness.”

YIELD Daily To God And Confess That The Only Power You Have Over Porn Is The Power Given By The Holy Spirit As You Are Surrendered To Him

Scriptural Basis:

Romans 6:13

“And do not go on presenting the members of your body to sin as instruments of unrighteousness; but present yourselves to God as those alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God.”

ZERO In On the ZONES Where You Will Be Tempted To Begin the Rituals of Looking At Porn and Avoid Those Zones

●There are certain people you should not be around. Cut them loose from your life.

●There are certain places you should never go. Stay away from those places.

●There are certain situations you should never allow yourself to get into. Make plans not to allow yourself to be in those situations.

Specifically identify these zones and place them as “off limits.”

Scriptural Basis:

I Corinthians 15:33

“Do not be deceived: Bad company corrupts good morals.”

This booklet is not designed to be a one-time read.  You must constantly work these principles. If pornography has disrupted your life, your marriage, your home, your work, or other relationships, I encourage you to act now. Don’t wait one more minute. The longer you wait to deal with the issue of pornography in your life, the more enslaved you will become.
