Over the past 36 hours I have been in prayer for a young man by the name of Mike Stone. Mike is a high school senior from Minnesota who has been working overtime seeking a date to his prom. He sent out over 600 tweets to porn stars
and a few celebrities asking them if they were “free on May 12”. Out of all these tweets Mike got a “yes” from a 19 year old porn star named Megan Piper.
Megan said that she did not go to her prom and was excited about going. On the bright side school officials are not going to allow Megan to attend the prom because it violates several school district rules. Mike is getting a great deal of support from classmates, many are calling him a “hero”. To get Megan to the prom he has to pay for all her travel expenses. Now a popular porn site has stepped up and is paying all expenses for the date.
One of my biggest concerns is what is Megan’s image going to do to the other young ladies in attendance. Will girls feel more obligated to have “after prom sex” just because there is a porn star in the room? Will her presence send the guys desires into overdrive?
I am sending up prayers for Mike, Megan and the community. I pray that God will put someone in their lives that will be a positive influence.
