OK…
Can I just say that I found Kanye West’s interview in W about being a “god” who also loves porn (I’m sorry, he calls it “adult film”) to be one of the oddest things I’ve heard. That man’s ego never ceases to amaze.
But onto other matters…
1) So it was actually my mom who sent me a YouTube link about a feature that was featured on ABC News. It’s a “movement” called “Make Love Not Porn”. I’m actually going into the link to it (so there’s the heads up) because I think it’s important to see the deception in “don’t watch porn, just watch ‘normal people’ taping themselves having sex”. So isn’t that like “free porn”.
2) Speaking of deception: I also read an article where “thanks” to 50 Shades of Grey, there are women who are asking for a masturbation app to be created. Every time that topic comes up, I think about what author Tim Alan Gardner (of Sacred Sex) once said. Paraphrased, we’re so busy chasging orgasms that we’ve lost sight of sex’s purpose: oneness. Sex makes two people one; you don’t need to become “one with yourself”. (Raw Story)
3) Speaking of deception *again*. Interesting that God would say it’s not good for man to be alone (Genesis 2:18) and Christ reiterated it (Matthew 19:1-12) yet there continues to be so much media content out on why marriage *isn’t* a great idea (John 17). One article said that men don’t want to get married because (wow), they’ll lose respect, friends, space, freedom, oh and sex. Any thoughts on that? (Huffington Post)
4) On the other hand, there’s another piece I checked out that said marriage actually has several benefits for men including the fact that they become more responsible, well-groomed, earn more money and it improves their health. Yeah. What’s your thoughts on that, too? (Bold Sky)
5) Oh FB (sigh). Just another heads up for you parents out there. I’ll just quote a piece of the article and encourage you to have your children’s passwords in social media: “A 23-year-old man used just a cellphone and an Internet connection to sexually extort more than a dozen underage girls for more than a year, according to authorities in Indianapolis. Austin Williams convinced them to send him nude photos and then posted them to Facebook when they wouldn’t meet up with him or send more. One of the girls even attempted suicide as a result.” (Daily Dot)
Until next week…
