“In everything set them an example by doing what is good. In your teaching show integrity, seriousness and soundness of speech that cannot be condemned, so that those who oppose you may be ashamed because they have nothing bad to say about us.” (Titus 2:7-8)

I read this verse last night and it made me almost want to throw up. Thing is, I’ve read it before but thought nothing of it. Until now.

We all have a responsibility to set a good example in everything we do. Not just what we SAY, but what we DO. When people walk though the doors, what is the first thing they hear or see in your home, your classroom, your church? Is it gossip, rude talk, swearing? Is it posters on your wall or locker? Is it the TV show or movie you are watching? Is it your Bible on the dinning room table?

Is it love?

Actions speak louder than words. So what actions do you have in your secret life that affect your everyday life? Are your actions of hiding what you are doing starting to show? Are friends or loved ones starting to break away from you?

I know when I was trying to hide what I was doing in the dark, my actions finally caught up to me in the form of handcuffs. Don’t let your hidden actions affect your life. The lying, the erasing the history on your computer, the late-night channel-surfing.

You can lose a friend, family member, job, or even a church home because of your actions. When Jesus was on earth He lived out His life through actions and speech and showed what a life of true worship was all about.

He lived it, breathed it, ate it, and slept it. His whole being was to bring people to a closer relationship with His and our Heavenly Father. Love can move mountains; your actions can make canyons. What are you doing?
