You may have heard “junk in, junk out” or “you are what you eat” well I do think that is true to some extent. Maybe a better way of putting it is “to be about good stuff, take in some good stuff.”

Philippians 4:8-9 – The Message
Summing it all
up, friends, I’d say you’ll do best by filling your minds and
meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling,
gracious—the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things
to praise, not things to curse. Put into practice what you learned from
me, what you heard and saw and realized. Do that, and God, who makes
everything work together, will work you into his most excellent
harmonies.

So at this point we have to ask some questions.

What junk do you take in that is effecting your thought life?
– Such as Grand Theft Auto, some cable crap tv, some lame magazine, that website that isn’t porn but is pretty close to it….

What good stuff can you replace it with?
– Such as books, music, art, sports, mags, podcasts. It doesn’t all have to be Christian stuff…(in my opinion) I mean the first Christian album I bought was Relient K, Self Titled, I got into the Christian scene pretty late at 17, but yea I do not think it needs to be Christian labeled stuff…

For almost 5 years I have been listening to this podcast. I started listening before they had a podcast in iTunes. It has changed me. It is Good Stuff for me. It inspires me and effects my thoughts. I listen every week. It is Mars Hill Podcast G-Rap MI (Grand Rapids, Mich) with Rob Bell…

The guys at this church are friends of ours and Rob gave a shout out to XXXchurch last week about us going to the Gay Porn Convention last week…more on that on the GPS blog

So do not get your theological craziness debating all the stuff that really, really doesn’t matter and give it a listen. People write all kinds of stuff about Mars and Rob, personally I think they all are the problem…not Rob’s books, podcast or church.

It is my good stuff once a week while I workout or drive or fly or work I just listen.

BONUS: Dealing With Addiction Video – somebody made it and it is anime-ish and serious and slighthly humorous because it remind me of umpa lumpas …
