Everyone should have a favorite movie. If they don’t you have the absolute right to completely discredit them as a friend, family member, or overall human being. There are certain things in life that are just musts. You MUST have a favorite movie, You MUST have a favorite moment in life, Song, etc. These are musts! My favorite movie is Rocky
See I believe there will be a movie room in heaven playing Rocky non-stop. It’s sub title alone says it all “His Whole Life Was a Million To One Shot”. An epic battle of a fighter fighting against all odds but one. His own! There’s an amazing line in the last of the Rocky films. He says this “Sometimes it’s not how hard you can hit, but it’s about how hard you can get hit, and still get up and keep fighting”.
In the battle of recovery, our will is discovered not by the length of victory, but at times our tenacity and determination to get back up in defeat. This proves so true when fighting for freedom of porn. Sometimes it’s so easy to get caught up in the “# of weeks of no porn”, and that’s good and beautiful. However fighters are proven fighters when they are tested. When they can pick themselves off the mat and get back into the fight.
I mentor almost a dozen young men across the country in this battle. There are so many times they are winning, and many times they are knocked to the canvas. For each of them, I remind them that God has given them the strength to get back up! To cleanse themselves with prayer, connection, accountability, and to come out swinging again. If you get knocked down 10 times Get up 11….That my friend is a true heart of a champion.
