PETE THE PORNO PUPPET

By Craig on Sun, Jul 8th 07 at 09:35PM | Permalink | Comments (40)

If anyone knows that porn is not for kids, it would be Ron Jeremy. Many in his industry speak out against this, but very few do anything about the fact that porn is way too accessible to kids nowadays. We are thankful Ron is willing to speak up and do something.

So, Porn star Ron Jeremy teams up with Pete The Porno Puppet to help kids stay away from pornography. In the upcoming public service announcement, Ron Jeremy, who has appeared in over 1800 adult films says, “Pornography is for consenting adults, not kids! We don’t want kids to see our videos.”

The public service announcement features Pete the Porno Puppet who tells kids not to be involved with pornography. Jeremy is featured as himself urging Pete to stay away from porn. In 2003, we created the first Pete the Porno Puppet commercial with well-known porn producer James Digiorgio, A.K.A ”Jimmy D” in Southern California. Others in the adult industry have come forward with support for the cause. Author and adult industry Journalist Luke Ford says, "Just as parents should not leave a loaded gun around the house, so too they should make efforts to protect their children from pornography.”

The new Pete the Porno Puppet commercial runs one-minute long and is slated to air in selected markets on the East Coast later this summer.

Ron and Craig agree on this issue, but have very strong disagreements with most issues relating to porn. The pair will hit the road in August for “The Porn Debate.” Jeremy, and Gross, will debate the issues of pornography over the course of 7 days travelling in the same bus from Chicago to New York starting August 5, 2007. The duo has been debating on college campuses for the past two years together. This tour will be the first of its kind taking them off the campus and into the clubs and theaters in seven different cites in seven nights. More information about the tour can be found at www.porndebate.com.

I'm incredulous. Haha its funny tho. Its a breath of fresh air. I'm glad Jeremy got his "I believe porn is legitimate" disclaimer in there - because I was confused about his views on the issue.

I think it is awesome that mr jeremy who anyone who is struggling with porn addiction has seen or at least knows who he is willing too fight for kids also willing to debate publicly on the issue i challenge anyone who questions this mans life too pray for ron who needs christ not condemn him.
T.J. wrote on July 11th 07 at 10:08AM
Mr. Jeremy can fight for kids by helping to STOP the porn industry. he can make all the porn he wants for adults, but duh....kids will still come across it....so STOP MAKING IT FOR A ADULTS !! When it is no longer available for adults kids will AUTOMATICALLY BE PROTECTED......but it's just his way to convince you all he's seeing your side....I am praying for him...PRAYING THAT THE Holy spirit will convict him of this and he will lay it down forever...not just tell kids to stay away from it...HE will stay away from it...that HE will stop producing it...

He needs to be shown HOW DAMAGING THIS IS FOR KIDS AND THAT MANY DYSFUNCTIONAL ADULTS LIVES TODAY ARE A RESULT OF HIS WORK IN THE PORN INDUSTRY. HIS WORK........same wioth Hugh Hefner.....HIS LIFE has destroyed the lives of many Americans by hin introducing OPlayboy into the public arena....(playboy is now tame/lame by some standards!!!)

Do you see the logic......? SOMEBODY had the GUTS to tell Ron Jeremy he is going to hell and dragging millions of Americans down with him unless he STOPS ALL INVOLVEMENT WITH PORN!! Pray he becomes BORN AGAIN

Yes you can blast ron jeremy if u like but as one who has viewed 10s of thousands of dollars on the porn industry i might add to my shame since i am a beleiver of christ. Even when i was 10 years old looking at the bra and swimsuit section i know you will all find this hard to beleive but ron jeremy was not there tempting me with a gun to my head it was satan and the sin nature i was born with. Why condemn the darkness for being dark "man sins when he is dragged away by his own evil human desires)

I too would throw in my lot with Pastor K and Tjay. Is it not rather tongue-in-cheek to say that one is concerned about kids watching porn when you are still active in the "industry" (a huge a misnomer given the meaning of the word) that churns out the filthy lucre, making it available for the kids to watch?!! you do not want kids to drink the filthy water, then disengage the fountain!! Put your action where your words are and may be then we will take you seriously, Jeremy.

Because kids today get preeched to a lot. They stop listening somewhere between the 'jee-' and the '-sus.'

I agree that there is a large air of hypocracy, hearing "don't use porn kids" from the "industry's" biggest "star". The message would be clearer coming from a former porn star (of which I'm sure there are plenty of them out there), but would it have as large of an impact as we hope it will coming from the mouth of Ron Jeremy? I think the fact that the "industry" is finally listening to the outcry of those who think porn is destructive and at least taking SOME action to lesson the negetive effects porn has on our world. Who knows, maybe a slow, less direct process is better. Like the tabacco industry, it's still out there, the advertisment targeting of children has been addressed, the tabacco industry itself is even leading a non-smoking campain (forced or not, it's happening) and you talk to most children, they know without a doubt that smoking is unhealthy. Maybe once this generation of smokers passes away and is replaced by one of non-smokers, the tabacco industry will go under. Hopefully the same happens with the porn "industry". Although, lust feels a whole HECK of a LOT better than nicoteen, so I'm thinking it's gonna take a LOT longer to get to the point that even tabacco has.

This is pure filth. Anyone who cannot see the hypocrisy and immolation of the Spirit of God that this whole concept of XXXChurch causes is just wearing those carnal blinders.

Get real. Ron Jeremy saying "say no to porn". It is a hard pill to swallow. I noticed that the Porn Debate SELLS tickets. Starting at 10 bux. Get real people. This is another corruption of the Truth. Porn Pastor, what is your cut on the price of admission?

My spirit is sickened by this.
John Morris wrote on July 14th 07 at 02:40AM
I agree that my heart wrenched when I saw that Ron was allowed to say that porn was for adults...not kids, in other words now that Im an adult I can see all the porn I want! XXX Church are you sure you want to convey this message? Take a closer look at this it is disturbing to say the least...neeedless to say the x3watch software has been a help to keep me away from the garbage but hey guys be careful what message you are saying...porn in absolutley wicked in every way and that's what kids need to hear
J.M. wrote on July 14th 07 at 02:50AM
I agree with TJ, shame on those who bashed him for his views...this whole website is IMO making too big a fanfare on the issue...just do what David of the bible did"I will set no wicked thing before my eyes" that will end it all right there! This site is borderline glorifying porn while telling kids to say no to it...the desire to view porn comes from the heart you have to fix that first then your eyes will follow - read your bible THAT will save your life!
k-dogg wrote on July 14th 07 at 03:15PM
There is so much more wrong with pornography than kids viewing it. Although I do agree that children should stay away from porn, I must say that it is no less destructive for adults. I am sick of this issue about not judging, the judgements of God are true and we must stand by them. You or I have not nor can we condemn anybody we only convey the sentence that sin carries with it and point to Jesus as the way out!!
suprised wrote on July 15th 07 at 07:31AM
I'm shocked that this this is a real site. How is it any of your business what I like to watch?
Only by Grace wrote on July 15th 07 at 09:14AM
The message of the puppet show is: Porn is for adults not for kids. I understand wanting to teach kids to stay away from porn, but this just says stay away until you're an adult. And we all know what that message does in the minds of kids.... it makes them want to see it. Very poor judgement here people.
To "surprised", there is compelling evidence regarding the ill effects of porn on individuals & families as well as societies. It is not the intent ( i don't think ) of this site to bash you for viewing porn but rather to help you see it's destructive and addictive power. My guess is you already know.

Was it Emerson who said, "who you are speaks so loudly I can not hear what you say". And St. Francis said, "Preach the gospel everyday, and if necessary, use words". Hypocrisy is the professing of one thing and yet doing the opposite. I would suggest that the means (Ron Jeremy) do not justify the end (kids not veiwing porn). Perhaps xxxchurch would be better served by a saved, post-porn spokesman.
ed wrote on July 15th 07 at 01:10PM
I'm glad that Ron is doing at least SOMETHING against pornograpy. I understand the position of those who feel this is a hypocritical thing for him to do. However, I'm glad he and others in this sordid business doing something to protect children from adults. Adult pornography is one thing. Child pornography is something else entirely. Though Ron has made his living from pornography I'm glad to see that he is against those who would corrupt the morals of minors. I presume that he is also against the monsters who prey on children to kill/molest them. I was raped as a child. I still have memories of the assaults. The damage to my soul has been life long and have deeply affected every facet of my life. If Ron and others want to help prevent this type of thing I'm all for it.
One more thing. The XXXChurch has helped me view pornites (I just invented the word: one who is a pornography consumer) as people who need salvation. Do they need judgement? Yes, but that is the job of the Holy Spirit. Our job is to pray, love and reason in the Spirit to help those who have been easily entangled in this sordid sin.

Ron, I don't know if you will be reading this or not. I just want you to know that I am not any better than you. Christ extends His nail pierced Hands to you, the same way He has to me.

Hi all...I am a woman...a mom...45...I've seen porn in my past...I'm not a prude who lived under a rock...I have been born again...God shook my world when he gave me a vision of hell at a Van halen concert....when the earth opens up and everyone around you starts sliding in...in SLO M O T I O N...you take a HUGE spiritual inventory....I got born again that night...no more playing games with Jesus.....THE WORLD BEHIND ME...>THE CROSS BEFORE ME kind of born again....THE REAL DEAL.....first thing I did...was tear up my Aerosmith tix for the follwoing week's concert....I was on a new road with Jesus....

so I said all that to make this point......

There is no such thing as "Adult Pornography" and CHild Porn something different.....

it is PORN....it is LUSTFUL.....IT LEADS TO IMMORALITY AND SOMETIMES PERVERSION....IT LEADS TO ASSALT ON KIDS....

OUTLAW ALL OF IT.....

If we're gonna "crack down" on illegals and employers who hire them, then buddy we can SURELY do the same for porn producers.......
T.J. wrote on July 16th 07 at 02:40PM
And Ron...I am praying for you too...You have been hanging around Ron and the gang from XXX...you know from the debates where the TRUTH IS.....all you have to do is decide to lay it down....(not a woman on a couch to film fondling herself......) LAY THE PORNO LIFE DOWN.....

not that comes from at least admitting that the industry is not good or godly or righteous....You KNOW THAT....no offense, but having a hagged out looking old man look into a camera and tell kids to stay away from porn doe not really seem truthful. Because you know in the BAC OF YOUR MIND....you're gonna film it again tonight...or produce more of it tomorrow.,,kids see thru HYPROCRISY as do all adults here in America....for as every new GOP COnservatrive Christian is outted and shamed publically for their sexual sins it cheapens the name of Jesus and makes me weep. I am praying that God gives you the strength to walk away and begin a new life in a different field. SUrrender to Jesus

Not at all. There is no back-of-the-mind about it. Ive seen the short, and at no point did Jeremy say anything to suggest he is opposed to pornography - he said only that in his view it is not appropriate for children to see. He was quite clear that he has no objection to adults watching it. Thus, there is no contradiction in him warning children against it and then going on to produce more, because he does not intentionally allow what he produces to be seen by children.

With a ministry as edgy as this...there is such a danger of hypocrisy...or just the appearance of it. To which Paul sez to avoid. In as much as Jeremy recognizes its bad for kids, arent we all kids at heart?? Ergo: "wake up XXX, and Wake up Jeremy!!!" The kid in me does not need titilation leading to porn!!!!! Likewise, and lest I forget...I must continue to pray, to lift up the well meaning hearts at XXX to be keenly aware, to not have the appearance of being "aligned with Jeremy" to the detriment of ministry for the Lord....

I've been on this site for about 20 minutes and I've read several messages in this blog. From what I've read, it appears that the theme of this website is that "porn is not for children." But I'm here to address a better one: "Pornography should be destroyed!" It shouldn't be for anyone!

Choosing to view this junk is like signing a contract, and all of the tiny print on the document that you do not see is a list of all the consequences that come along with the choice you are making.

And this is for all the true followers of Jesus: When you stand before God one day, you don't want to be like, "Dang! I should have done my best for Christ, instead of jacking off at pictures of Fred Flinstone."

I would like to use this quote: "Pornography tears down how God has created us to be. You must choose to believe that God is bigger than your addiction and be willing to surrender to Him in order for your life to change."

This site is giving the wrong message! And it's time for me to do something about it! *goes insane*

*hires a bunch of cybercriminals to hack and destroy every porn/nudity/fetishspanking/xxx site on the Web*

ATTACK!!!11!!1111

*does the moonwalk while bombing several gay websites and all the porngraphic results that can come up after doing a Google search*

AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!11111

*The cybercriminals start breakdancing while hurling Anti-Porn Projectiles, laser beams, and homing missiles at lesbian websites*

*pulls out a sword; does the Worm while violently truncating anime porn sites of Sailor Moon*

Sailor Moon: Thank you so much.

Random Man: No problem.

Cybercriminal 1: Random Man, we have a problem.

Random Man: What is it?

Cybercriminal 1: That. *points to the right*

/\/ DEFEAT BOSS: Ron Jeremy \/\

Random Man: Uh-oh.

Cybercriminal 2: Here. Take this. *gives Random Man a Bible*

Random Man: Thanks.

Cybercriminal 3: Good luck.

Jeremy pulled out a porn magazine out of nowhere and lunged forward at Random Man while trying to slap him in the face with the magazine. Random Man sidestepped to the left and counterattacked by striking Jeremy with his Bible.

Random Man: Take THAT!

Ron Jeremy: Is that all you can do? Bring it!

Random Man delivered a roundhouse kick, which was easily blocked by Jeremy. Jeremy threw a punch to Random Man's nose, but Ran Man leaned backward as if he was doing the Matrix. Then Random Man slithered like a snake and coiled himself around Jeremy.

Ron Jeremy: What th' [BAD WORD]?! What are you doing?!

Random Man: BRINGING JUSTICE TO THE INTERNET!!!

Random Man released Jeremy, who was no longer able to move.

Random Man: You'll be that way for seven minutes.

Ron Jeremy: ...Why?

Random Man: 'Cause that's the number of children who were viewing your pornography last night.

Batman and Sonic: Ooooooooooh! TOLD!!!

Random Man: And with that, I shall make a few more comments before I go: Why is this site called "xxxchurch.com"? The word "church" shouldn't even be in the name because of the wrong message that this site is giving. Porn should NOT be for adults. Porn should NOT be for teenagers (which it isn't). Porn should NOT be for kids (which it isn't). Porn should NOT be for your mom. Porn should NOT be for your dog. Porn should NOT be for your wife's ex-wife's mailman's friend's daughter's boyfriend's girlfriend's boyfriend--me. It should NOT be for anyone! It is wrong and it needs to be destroyed. Stop grieving the Holy Spirit and do your best to oppose this crap! *disappears*

Note: This message is in no way intended to offend or diss Ron Jeremy and/or the webmaster(s) of this site. But this message needed to be posted.

Porn is called the adult industry. I don't think it should be open for adults. I don't think it should be open for anyone. It causes too many problems both social and personal.

Down with all porn. It provides a choice of freewill to choose to feed the hunger for porn and lust and the like or to choose to not feed that hunger. Even though it provides a fork in the road of obedience to God by staying away from it or disobedience to God by going to it, I still wish it didn't exist, however, we are sexual beings and what God creates, the world distorts which is what has happened with sex. Sex, which God created, has been turned into an ungodly pool of lust and porn and sexual abuse and more.

I still say down with porn, though.

You have brought humor to a "not so funny" subject.

As a mother of 3 young boys I am SO scared with what is offered to them now a days. To have a "silly" in my opionion, puppet, telling them to stay away from porn is dumb. First off, why should a puppet know anything? Puppets are inocent themselfs...
I see my husband stuggle with what is on the normal television too. It's not just porn. It's the world we live in.

How should we handle these days, and the days to come?

The bible says: "When darkness grows darker, the light HAS TO BECOME BRIGHTER!"

Truly, I don't think that there is much that we can do to REALLY get rid of the porn that has infested itself in our country, better yet, our world. HOWEVER, we need to become BRIGHTER in the darkening world. No, this doesn't mean to condemm others! Or to bash those who embrace the ever growning darkness.

This world needs THE GLORY OF GOD to fall upon it.

The bible tells us that when the GLORY comes, it CHANGES EVERYTHING IT TOUCHES.

WE CANNOT CHANGE MAN, BUT GOD CAN!!!

Is prayer the answer? Not totally... I believe we MUST lead by example.

IF YOU WERE ONCE ADDICTED TO PORN, FIND SOMEONE WHO NOW IS AND TELL THEM HOW YOU FOUND THE WAY OUT. DON'T SIT BACK AND JUDGE THOSE WHO ARE TRYING TO REACH THOSE ADDICTED.

XXXchurch.com is getting those who were looking for an XXX webpage to come here, and YES, it MAY JUST BE THE THING THAT KEEPS THEM FROM THE NEXT STEP OF LOOKING AT SOMETHING THEY WILL LATER REGRET.

*Prays* Jesus, those who came to this website by accident, You know their names, You know their hearts. You know what they need to find/feel to get out of the porn...
Jesus, help them I pray! Show them Your face. Let them know that there IS a way out! With You. NOT MAN, ONLY YOU!

Hey guys, I was listening to the most recent podcast and heard a definition of Digital Immigrant. I was wondering where you got your definition because I was taught in my Educational Technology class (fancy right?) that it doesn't matter what decade you were born in, but how well you learn how to use technology! My grandfather is technically a digital native because he loves and can use technology much eaiser than I can and I'm 21. Sad? I was just curious where you heard about Immigrants vs. Natives so we could compare notes. You guys rock, keep it up.

It seems that most everyone posting is missing what I view as the bigger picture. This comes from an adult who is addicted to porn from encountering it as a child. From a biblical standpoint its obvious that porn ain't right and we all know that. But don't throw the baby out with the bathwater.

If we don't start here where do we start? Talk is cheap, as message boards show. To see someone from inside the industry making a conscious effort to stop innocent children from seeing it is amazing! While this doesn't make his production of porn justifiable, it does in theory help children steer clear of it. Now if the tactics don't work, stop it and try something different, but if they do, we've taken a step closer to freeing many people and reaching our end goal whatever it may be.

Share your thoughts on this...

From someone who struggles daily with lust/porn issues.....everyone needs to take a step back and look at the baby steps that are happening here. JR and Craig got Ron Jeremy to tell someone, anyone, to stay away from porn. Do you not see where there is some good here?

Granted, the man is still saying it's OK for some people, but it's a start.....hey, I see jonny gets it.......

Sometimes we need to do something a little nutty in the name of Christ....not just sit back and throw a Bible verse in their faces. That didn't work for me......I try every day to remember to not "lurk at my neighbor's door" and to "not set any vile thing before my eyes", but you know what....sometimes clevage and butts find their way into my line of sight.

I pray that people find a way to not be so constrained by tradition and what they think is the only way things can get done.

First of all, i want to say that I am pretty stoked that you folks are stepping up to minister to the pornstars and viewers, but I question the effectivness of this commercial. I think the conclusion or theme of the commercial is off base. I leave thinking that porn is okay for adults...and its not. For what its worth, thats my 2 cents. God bless you guys. I will be praying for your ministry.
