This weekend, we’re holding Strip Church Training in San Diego for 20 women that came from Canada, Alabama, Michigan, Texas, California, Arizona and even Latvia!
On Friday night, we kicked off the training with a session with Lisa Jernigan and Patty Wyatt, women’s ministry leaders and founders of Cakes of Love, a strip club outreach ministry in Phoenix, AZ. We shared a meal together, and connected on stories of how and why we got where we are, and what led us to want to do strip club outreach.
On Saturday, we spent all day sharing practical tips on how to get into clubs, what to do once you’re in, and how to care for girls beyond the clubs. We heard about the experiences of Sheri Brown, the leader of JC’s Girls, a local San Diego ministry that’s part of The Rock Church. We listened to the incredible testimony of Brittni Ruiz, former porn star now passionate follower of Jesus, and how XXXchurch helped lead her out. We also had the opportunity to meet a woman who was once sitting in a Strip Church Training a year and a half ago, and now runs an amazing outreach ministry in Orange County, called Divine.
Last night 11 women went out on an outreach into the clubs with the JC’s Girls local team to hand out gift baskets to the girls, and lavish them with love. It has been an amazing weekend, God is moving and we are beyond excited to see the work God does through these women in each of their cities.
