Recently we came across some really interesting stats on porn usage. So, we decided to put together a sweet infographic for all of you to share (see below). But before skipping down read this real quick.

We’ve all heard the big stats about how porn brings in more revenue that most all professional sports combined…. ya, it’s crazy.

But sometimes the small data tells a big story.  Hang with me for this one.

Big stats rarely get us to live differently. For example.

“Hunger kills more people each year than AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis combined.” 1

That makes me feel like the problem is TOO big to solve. But….what if we said something like this.

“It only costs you 5 cups of coffee a month to provide a child food for a month.” 2

The second statement makes me want to give up coffee to save a life.  (I do need to quit coffee)

So, check out these PORN STATS from the past year. This is really intriguing stuff – all this data came from some of the largest porn sites online:

  • 70% of Porn Traffic happens during work hours.
  • 38% Drop in Porn Traffic on Christmas.
  • 37% Drop in Porn Traffic on New Years Eve.

So, from this information I can make the following assumptions:

  1. Most people are viewing porn at work (or during work hours). We could probably also assume they aren’t watching it with others and are doing it in private.
  2. People don’t watch porn on major holidays or sporting events.
  3. “Free Porn” sites are cashing in on you with ads and collecting your data.

Also, this data tells me a little more about our present day culture:

  1. Porn is still a hidden secret and viewed in isolation.
  2. Community or Gatherings are preferred over and/or more popular than porn use.

We hope seeing the “smaller stats” on porn use can help shift the conversion. We all need community to conquer this.
