“Keep me from looking at worthless things. Let me live by your word.”—Psalm 119:37(NCV)

A politician? Ha! I will never be. Although, the more I read about a lot of them, it seems like my sordid sexual past really doesn’t stand out that much…in comparison.

How sad.

Anyway, being that confession is good for the soul (James 5:16), I’ll just say that when I read the article, “How to Protect Your Naked Photos” earlier this week, due to one stupid weekend, back in college, on a farm, with a college photographer girlfriend of mine who wanted to (eh hem)…expand her portfolio,  I can understand why some people may find that to be some “need to know” info. I mean, back then (praise the Lord!), technology was not what it is now. However, to this day, I have *absolutely no clue* where those negatives are.*sigh*

One poor choice. Can breed years (and years) of regret. Or at least, remorse.

TAKE HEED.

Amazing how many of us, due to sexting, naked phone photos, sex tapes with our significant (or is it *insignificant*?!?) others, we find ourselves not needing to download porn because…*we’re becoming the porn*.

And maybe it’s just me, yet aside from how *pure* God *created* sex to be (Hebrews 13:4, I Timothy 5:22, I Corinthians 6:16, Proverbs 5), it seems like doing it “our way” is just making things really complicated. Although I’m not sure why being naked in/on film is so…trendy right now, after needing to make sure that you cover up your birthmarks and tattoos, that you create a password as long as the alphabet and you stay with your psycho sex partner just so that you don’t find him (or her) taking out any “Facebook revenge” on you, what was the motivation for full self-exposure in the first place? Especially since when the *gift of sex* was first given to us in the Garden of Eden, it was with God’s desire for his children to be naked and *not ashamed* (Genesis 2:25). Is nudity beautiful? Of course it is. But anything can become shameful when it’s used out of purpose and something (that would be the Holy Spirit, by the way) tells me that God never wanted his sons’ lower parts or daughters’ upper parts to be “all a TWITTER”. A body, uncovered, should be a treasure. Not a platform.

Unfortunately, that’s not the worst of it. I mean, really, what’s up with the porn company building the porn bunker as a preventative measure for apocalypse (?!?) next year?!? The world is going to end (still not sure why people get caught up in that hype either-Matthew 24:35-37) and you’re concerned about making sure that porn still exists?!? Yeah. That’s having your priority’s straight.

*sigh again*

And I think that’s what bothers me most of all. That it seems like our priorities really are getting more and more out of place. Position. *Purpose*. To the point that our bodies, which were meant for one (I Corinthians 7:2), are now on display for the masses and people in the end times are more consumed with protecting sin than their souls. And more and more…even people within the Church, *people who should know better*, are becoming OK with that. With pandering rather than true covenant partnership.

Well, something tells me that at least one person reading this feels like they need those tips for keeping their naked photos on lock. Abusing your temple (I Corinthians 6:19) in that way is so not worth it. Please rethink such actions. No matter how socially acceptable it may be. The Message Version of Luke 6:26 tells us that as believers, our task is to be *true* not *popular*. And the truth is? You’re better than that. And so is your (future) mate.

You know, my mother says that “Discernment prevents experience from being your teacher.” Trust me. A couple of reckless minutes…can last a lifetime.

You want a future without a past haunting you.

The choice is yours: You can be pure. Or you can be porn.

*Choose wisely.*
