masturbation

Hi XXX church people. I was wondering if someone could explain to me why masturbation is wrong.

I’ve done a lot of research and listened to quite a few sermons and the primary concern seems to be about lust. If someone were to masturbate WITHOUT lust, is it still wrong? Does it still fall under “sexually immoral”? What does that even mean?

The secular part of my research indicated that masturbation is actually helpful in some circumstances. Some therapists have recommended it for people struggling with anxiety or self-esteem. How can something that can be beneficial be so flatly wrong? Is this a context thing, like sex? It’s okay within marriage?

Please help me understand. I want to be pure, but I need to understand. Thanks!

Masterbation is something that does not have a clear cut passage in the bible that say “do not masterbate” How ever the bible clearly states that sex should be between a man and a women who are married. Being that masterbation is done with one person the couple issue is gone.

people masterbate the thought tends to drift to lustfull things and that causes us to fall into sin as well.

I hope this was some help to your question.

Porn

What would be considered porn? Where does eg a picture cross the line form being ok, to being porn? I am teacher and I have had a discussion with my learners about porn, but I am really ignorant. Thank you

Hailey,

For many this is a hard line to draw. For me porn would be images that causes sexual temptation and lustfull thoughts.

my husband and porn

My husband has been looking at porn online and then denying it after i find out. It hurts me and i need to know how to help him stop.

You need to talk to him about this and tell him how it makes you feel. Be open with him and be honest. I would also like to suggest that you go to a site called www.partnersforpurity.com This is a group of women who have been were you are and understand. They will also provide you with great resources.
