Same sex attraction towards a male friend? cut it off?

Hey, Well,I am currently going through fighting off homosexual thoughts/porn/masturbation. It has sucked. I finally have a mentor/accountability partner type dude. he’s been very helpful. Well recently I have had trouble having a couple,even one close christian brother. So I met one from church and we had it in our vision to both see a young mens smallgroup at our church,so he started one. We have hung out a couple times,and a few weeks ago we met one on one at Starbucks just to hang out an talk,etc. So,anyway within the last couple weeks i’ve had physical attraction to him,and even sexual fantasies. It’s been quite the battle. I went a week without porn/masturbation until this week when the thoughts about my friend were driving me so crazy I gave in. I did it because I wanted the thoughts to stop. I felt such shame and guilt for having these thoughts about a new close friend. When I did it though,it was to porn..not thoughts about him,well maybe a little at the end. My mentor thinks I should avoid contact for now,or at least limit it. thoughts? I’d feel so bad because i’ve been like his right hand man getting his small group started and such. Plus there’s only like one other guy in it right now. 🙁 Thanks.

My name is Alex i am 34 ive been a christian all my life. My friend exposed me to porn at the tender age of 12. I really love god but i can’t seem to shake the desire to watch. I fell ashamed and all i want more then anything is tolive pure. What hurts the most is i know god sees me and especially that i am involved in a music ministry i fell un worthy. I dont get an urge during the day because i am so busy bu once i get home at night around 11 pm i turn on my playstation 3 and surf the internet. I dont know what to do ive tried to download your software onto my playstation but it wont worl Please i am despersate i dont want to suffer with this any more.

Your vise is the Playstation right now and you may want to consoder removing it from your house. I know you turn to this for rest but, you need to find something else to do this with.

You also need to talk to someone you know about this and get solid accountability for this issue in your life. Someone who you can talk to often and will see often. This person needs to be one that will be able to ask you the tough questions and be willing to hold you to what you need.
