I know that this is a hard question to give a hard-lined answer to, but my wife and I are praying about what role she should play in my recovery from porn addiction. I’ve heard different takes on this, but do you think that a wife should be listed as an accountability partner within accountability software? We’ve tried it both ways and it seems to help me in the sense of being deterred further from acting out, but some of my mentors and I are concerned with the toll it may take on her. Again, I know it’s a tough question to answer and I’m sure that all couples are different, so even if you could provide some insight in how to decide what is right for us uniquely, it would be very helpful and appreciated. Hi, I”m 31 and I’ve had a problem with porn and masturbation since as long as I can remember. It’s only in the last 3 years or so that I’ve actively begun to try and fight it. While I’m no longer masturbating 2-3 times on a daily basis (with or without porn), I still find that I actively scroll free sex postings on craigslist and other sites on a daily basis, and do find that I relapse every so often and go look at porn. I was raised Catholic but I don’t practise anymore, not so much because I don’t believe in God or Jesus Christ, but I’m wondering if the 30-day program will still work for me.

I’m a 20 year old making the decision (today) to eradicate porn/masturbation from my life. My question is: Do you think that cursing, or using swear words of sexual origin is detrimental to the fight against lust? I want to make this change radical in my life. Are there other trigger sins I should watch for?
