How to help a friend struggling with porn?

I have a very dear friend who is a guy and we were talking tonight about his relationship with God. He basically told me it was difficult for him to follow Jesus bc of his struggle with porn and it doesn’t help that he is 16 too. As a friend what should I do? I told him that he 1st needed to get an accountability partner and that he needed to start having daily devos. I told him that he should write it down so it would cause him to be accountable to himself. I also encouraged him to not watch movies or tv shows with sex scenes. Is there anything else that you think I should do?

You have done a great deal already. Make sure you are not his accountability partner unless you are totally secure with the opposite sex thing. Also follow up with him and make sure he found someone to be accountable to. So often we ask for forgiveness and say we will do things but, once that relief is off our chest we can tend to turn around. I would also recommend a filter and accountability software as well.

masturbation

I am an assit. youth leader. I just had a girl ask me about masturbation. She told me that she does not think of anything bad doing it and only does it once a month to relieve stress. Lets just say she does deal with a lot. So I am trying to figure out is it really a sin? When no lust, selfishness or any other real sins are in play here but I could just be missing one. Nothing in the bible containes to masturbation especially for a girl. So what is your opinion? i told her that I did not think it was a sin and another youth pastor from another church agreed but it can lead to other things if not controlled. I also wonder too, if she uses something that represents a didlo is that a sin? She never really came out and said she uses one but i could pick it up. So I am trying to make sure that i lead her in the right direction, so what is your opinion?

I find it very hard to believe that she is not thinking of something when she masterbates. Women are so much more mentally focused on the relationship during sex and they will tend to thing more of stuff.

For X3 Church we feel it is a sin because sex is ment to be between a mand and a women. When you masterbate you are having sex with no on other than yourself.

porn addiction

I am wondering if my husband has an addiction to porn and how to address the issue. I know that he looks at it and then deletes the history. I got a program that will give me all history even if it was deleted. Last night we had sex then I find out that 6 hours later he was looking at porn on our computer just before he left for work. What am I to do. I don;t want my children growing up in a broken home but I don’t want them to grow up knowing what their dad looks at
