Recently, I have been getting massive urges and temptations to watch pornography and masturbating. For the past month I have been clean from porn with the help of God. After years of wanting to stop I have finally managed to stop with a reasonable amount of time. But once again I have been getting urges to do it again. And I am finding myself questioning if pornography is a sin or not. Either I am just being ignorant or I actually want to relapse. I would like to know if I can masturbate without lusting of someone with the help of God. Using masturbation as a tool of just simply and strictly sexual release of my body. Also, am i able to masturbate with porn without lusting over the girls in the pictures or the videos. I have to be honest I have stumbled on a few pictures inadvertently from social sites such as tumblr or facebook. But i closed it right away. Even though I looked at it; I didnt really feel anything or any temptation to drop my underwear and start doing the ol’ deed. So that is why i am confused. I am not sure if it is a sin if i can control my masturbation with porn whilst not really lusting over the women.
Masturbation is a sin no matter how you do it. I do not know of anyone who can do this with out having sexual thoughts and images to do so. Also the act of masturbation is also a sin as far as I am consirned. This is sex with your self and God created sex to be between a man and a women not a man and himself. This will only cause a strif in your thoughts of what sex should be like and is only setting up your futur wife for faliur in your sexual relastionship with her.
I have a question regarding masturbation.. So i realize that after i masturbate to porn, its like i dont have any desire to look at it anymore for the time being. Is it possible to be addicted to masturbation and not porn and only using porn to masturbate?
Masturbation can be a very addicting thin just like porn. But, I would bet that if you are using porn to masturbate there is an addiction there as well with the porn if you keep turning to it.
Dear X3, I am a strong Catholic and have been involved with the church for many years. for the past two years I have been occasionally view pornography. I am not a frequent, every day user although once in awhile it pops up and comes around. When i view pornography I do not watch any videos but a few pictures with some sort of nudity. Other times, i choose not to view pornography but to look at pictures that are not totally nude or showing anything but are close to. This is a problem for me and many of my friends surrounding me and any advice would be greatly appraciated! Thanks, Kwame
